It’s always a pleasure hosting our Dirtybird homies at #DimMakTuesdays and this Tuesday, November 12th we’re excited to have Dirtybird player and Anabatic Records founder Worthy on the ones and twos as we vibe to the sounds of booty bass, breaks and future house!
“The Worthy sound has always been powerful, rocking, funky, bass-driven music at its best, and for me this is the new wave in house music.” – Carl Cox
“Those hardcore Dirtybird fans rolled in full force…these kids get so passionate about it…this is by far the most exciting show I’ve done here” – Justin Jay after his recent set with Ardalan at #DimMakTuesdays
Arsenio Hall & Tyler The Creator got the chance to talk out some current events, and as expected, Tyler’s personality is perfect for the best interviews out there. A lot of great topics were covered like what inspired his direction for the “Glowing” music video, and why kids need to follow their own paths rather than what their parents want. Getting comfortable on the studio couch, Tyler continued to give his thoughts on certain racial slurs and derogatory words having no personal meaning, President Barack Obama, and love for Quincy Jones. Watch it above and let us know what you think of it all.
Dim Mak Records has taken over the Beatport Hard Dance Chart with three of our newest releases in the Top 10. Dirtyphonics’ October release of “Hanging on Me” (Borgore & Ookay Remix) is reigning at #1 followed by Dim Mak’s first hardstyle producer Coone. Both of Coone’s latest singles “Our Fairytale (Theme Of Tomorrow 2013)” feat. Chris Madin and “Zombie Killer” feat. Kritikal are placed side by side at #6 and #7, respectively. Listen to these tracks below and you’ll know why Dim Mak’s hardest records are dominating the charts!

Clockwork returns with his latest track “Blitz” on Dim Mak Records, the follow-up to this past summer’s “Surge”. “Blitz” is rambunctious electro house made for the big room. Clockwork’s signature style of electro truly shines during the drop, pounding along to a crowd-hyping rhythm…
It’s Friday, November 1st and usually this would be the time I talk about Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, but instead I thought I’d share an entirely NEW jam as part of our infamous #FreeFriday series. Our Austin homies Night Drive take our LA homie Goldroom’s latest single “Embrace” out for a spin…
In mere days from now—November 4 through 9, to be exact—a selection of finalists from around the world will touch down in Toronto for the Red Bull Thre3style World Finals, the globe’s best DJ competition actually geared towards the dancefloor. But it’s not like the Canadian capital needs any talent imported. Many of the DJs/producers currently blowing up the club scene worldwide originate in the T… and you may not even know it.
In this video, Brooklyn-based DJ Jubilee—a Thre3style judge who has played in Canada so many times she’s practically half-maple—visits over 15 of her Toronto-based friends, including Dim Mak superstars Keys N Kratesand Autoerotique, bass dudes Hunter Siegel and Marcus Visionary, techno leading lights Gingy and Alixander III (of Azari & III), and frequent Thre3style performers Grandtheft, Thugli, and Skratch Bastid, among many others. Along the way we discover that the Toronto dance music scene is a fractured but lovable family—most of these producers have worked together, lived together, thrown parties together, or gotten in fights with each other at one point or another, whether they’re deep in the techno game or banging out the hardest trap sounds.
Watch See You in Toronto to find about Torro Torro’s secret love affair with pigs, why Bruce Trail is a wizard, who throws the best afterparties, how Autoerotique gets erotic, and why Hamilton is the darkest place on the planet Earth, among other secrets of the city’s dance music elite.
Belgian jumpstyle and hardstyle producer/musician/DJ and Dim Mak’s first-ever hardstyle artist Coone unleashes his newest single “Zombie Killer” this Halloween (October 31) on Dim Mak Records. The track, featuring rapper Kritikal, is the third single from Coone’s upcoming album…
Thanks to a pair of magic headphones — and, really, what headphones aren’t? — the two swap places, with Simmons becoming an EDM superstar and Aoki taking over one of Simmons’ workouts. Think Freaky Friday with lots of exercise outfits and choreography…

Many producers like to stick to a genre. IllSkillz is not one of those people. His full-length Smash The Parade sets aside any pre-existing notions that a producer must stay lumped in one category. Across the twelve-track album, IllSkillz explores a diverse range of genres…
The latest effort from Belgian duo Sound of Stereo, Funk / Jive, tells two opposite sides of a similar story. On one end, “Funk” is a dance floor filler track, featuring a build-up with an ever intense climbing motion. The song drops into a body rocking electro synth…

In celebration of his second release on Dim Mak Records “A DJ Is Not An iPod” (New Noise Vol. 5), Tocadisco has put together a special playlist for your listening pleasure! If this chart doesn’t make you want to throw on those dancing shoes, we don’t know what will!
Stockholm’s, John Dahlback, has been diligently at work fine-tuning his latest 2-track electro house masterpiece “Uh Oh!” which features the electric, club ready singles “Uh Oh” and “Walls Come Down”. The beat punching “Uh Oh!” is centered around an unusual…
A big and bold electro house jam, Blitz serves as a more-than-fine sequel to last winter’s Surge. The springy lead and powerful drums do justice to the big room vibes and reputation he’s known for while pushing the envelope and not conforming to the endless waves of music of similar vein…
The March of the Afrojack series continues its wild parade in this latest installment, which finds the Dutch EDM superstar pool-party hopping in a whirlwind of DJ set debauchery with buddies Calvin Harris, Laidback Luke and Steve Aoki.
Afrojack heads over to Aoki’s pool party where the champagne flowed, the beats boomed and Afrojack proclaimed the Dim Mak honcho, “my best friend in music. I don’t know anyone I’m closer to in the whole music scene than Steve Aoki.”
The two go on to discuss their own friendship, with Aoki recalling their first meeting around 2009 and the track, “Show Me Your Hands,” that instantly came about from their first session together. The clip ends with some truly unique footage of “Afroki” – as the two so call themselves – swapping beats and working on what’s sure to be another raucous collaboration.

Toronto-based live electronic outfit KEYS N KRATES have today (October 17) partnered with MTV Clubland and mtvU for the premiere of the official music video for their breakthrough single “Dum Dee Dum” from their recently released SOLOW EP, out now on Dim Mak Records. The video made its on-air debut this morning on MTV Clubland and is also featured on MTV2 and mtvU. Watch the “Dum Dee Dum” music video here: http://goo.gl/xNJbVM.
Directed by Slave Labour, the video is a hilarious mockumentary that explores the Mennonite culture. In the video, the director visits various Mennonite communities and introduces members to current technology unbeknownst to them, including iPods, boom boxes, and more, all the while blaring the “Dum Dee Dum” track in full blast. The reaction from the Mennonite community to the alien sounds of “Dum Dee Dum” is priceless.

Three great minds in music have come together on Dim Mak’s latest release, “Bring You To Life (Transcend)”. Defined by its warm lead sounds, “Transcend” was one of the most popular tracks on Steve Aoki’s It’s the End of the World As We Know It EP from this past December.
Run Hide Survive EP is the newest effort from Brighton outfit SOUTH CENTRAL, pushing the expectations of what electro can be. “Drop It” at first plays much like a big room progressive track, complete with lush chord progressions and a memorable build up. When it drops though…
The Back Off, Bitch! remix EP invites a diverse palate of producers to try their hand at the Static Revenger and Kay original. Dim Mak enlists the help of Melbourne Bounce favorite J-Trick to give this electro track a much needed Down Under attack….
Admit it: you don’t really read the endless terms and conditions connected to every website you visit, phone call you make or app you download. But every day, billion-dollar corporations are learning more about your interests, your friends and family, your finances, and your secrets… and are not only selling the information to the highest bidder, but freely sharing it with the government. And you agreed to all of it. With fascinating examples and so-unbelievable-they’re-almost-funny facts, filmmaker Cullen Hoback exposes what governments and corporations are legally taking from you every day – turning the future of both privacy and civil liberties uncertain. From whistle blowers and investigative journalists to zombie fan clubs and Egyptian dissidents, this disquieting exposé demonstrates how every one of us has incrementally opted-in to a real-time surveillance state, click by click- and what, if anything, can be done about it. Israeli DJ-producer Borgore has a knack for stitching together eclectic styles. As a former death-metal drummer, he brings a hard-hitting approach to his electronic tunes – but he’s still savvy enough to collaborate with artists of very different genres. On his new single, “Wild Out,” he brings both a pop singer, Paige, and a rapper, Waka Flocka Flame, into the fold.
Borgore had high praise for her, as well as for his guest rapper. “Working with Waka was like working with the energy of an MMA fight, while Paige brought a serene, silky, angel-like voice and I had to somehow mix them both together. Mission.”
“Wild Out” will be released on October 15th, on Dim Mak Records, and it’s available for pre-order on iTunes and Borgore’s official website. The Wild Out EP will be released later this fall.

“Daniel (LA Riots) and I have wanted to do a track together for a while, so when we got the chance it was really exciting. I had been a fan of his few a while. We asked up and comer Jessie Malakouti join us on this track and she added a really special element…” – ThankYouX

Now firmly cemented as one of the staple tracks in the Dirtyphonics discography, “Hanging On Me” made headlines earlier in 2013 for its huge dubstep sound. Now a number of versatile artists have lent their hands to remix this dancefloor devastator into wholly different creations.
SAVAGE SKULLS & DOUSTER released the Bass Kick EP in early 2013, a mixture of 808’s, garage and even Dutch influence across its tracks. The time has come for a number of producers to try their hands at these songs…
Kevin Focus shows us that, when it comes to electronic music, less isn’t always more. In fact “Less is Snore”. The long awaited follow up to Focus’s number one selling EP Stuck 7/Brock Out takes his progressive, big room sound and fuses it with his past underground roots.
2013 has been a huge year for English alternative band, “Scanners.” This June marked the release of their long awaited third album, “Love is Symmetry” on Dim Mak Records. To follow up, 5 songs on the album have been chosen for 8 remixers to give their interpretation on Scanners.
Felix Cartal is experiencing a monumental year! With a slew of chart-topping releases, including his recent “Past, Present, Felix” EP, and a North American tour that kicked off with a bang, Canada’s electro-house golden boy knows no limits!
Having just reached the #1 spot on Hype Machine popular charts, Felix’s summer single “Young Love (feat. KoKo LaRoo)” is making massive waves in the blogosphere. To add fuel to that fire, the official video for the track has just been featured as one of the “fresh videos” on Canada’s iconic pop-culture site www.muchmusic.com!
Felix will be participating in an in-studio interview with Much Music coming up soon! #staytuned
Calling all explorers, adventurers, thrill seekers, and bad asses alike! To celebrate the release of the Indie Anna Jones (Remixes) EP from Clinton VanSciver, available now on Dim Mak Records, Dim Mak presents the official Clinton VanSciver “Indie Anna Jones” Remix Scavenger Hunt.
Is there any sound so tough that a U.K. garage refix can’t turn into something pliable and seductive? Apparently, not, at least judging from the Los Angeles producer Kastle’s remix of “Hanging on Me,” a new song from the French quartet Dirtyphonics. Their recent singles have typically trod the line between headbanging and Ed Banging: “No Stopping Us,” featuring Foreign Beggars, was hip-house via Alice in Chains, while “Walk in the Fire” was forged of blast beats and chugging metal guitars. “Hanging on Me” is similar, marrying Master of Puppets-inspired twinned leads to a shuddering, dubsteppy cadence and topping it off with vocals from the Duke Spirit’s Liela Moss, who here sounds, improbably but intriguingly, a little like Cat Power imitating Ozzy Osbourne. In Kastle’s hands, though, the tune flashes back to 2-step’s glory days, complete with bouncy organ bass line and synths as bubbly as a freshly uncorked bottle of Dom. In contrast to 2-step’s habit of making chipmunks out of its singers, he plays Moss’ vocals relatively straight, save for a judicious bit of glottal chopping, but he strays from convention by briefly flipping the groove into a brittle triplet rhythm that’s halfway between trap and Schaffel. If you’ve ever dreamed of a Lex Luger/Superpitcher collaboration, here’s the next best thing. (via SPIN)
With over 700 submissions, the Dim Mak x Earmilk x TomorrowWorld DJ Open fueled one of the hottest competitive bonfires in electronic dance music history!
Hundreds of aspiring DJ’s from across the nation put their heart and soul into creating mixes that blew our minds. It would be an understatement to say that choosing a winner was not easy and we appreciate each and every person who submitted. However, after hours of listening to and researching each contestant, it soon became clear to us who the winner should be, based upon the rules and regulations we established from the beginning.
Not only did we pay special attention to the originality, creativity, and diversity of the mix, we also took into consideration the way in which the artist branded themselves to their fans and the hussle and drive they’ve put into making a name for themselves and their music thus far. In the end, we chose a well-rounded winner we believe to be not only extremely talented, but also excellent at strategically and creatively marketing themselves and their music to their audience while differentiating themselves from the competition.
And now, without further adieu, the artist we’ve chosen to open the Dim Mak Up All Night Stage at the first-ever TomorrowWorld 2013 is LA-based producer duo, 2 DEEP:

This past weekend marked the first, national Red Bull Flugtag event in Long Beach, CA. Over 110,000 people spectators showed up to watch as 28 teams launched their clever flying contraptions off the Rainbow Harbor pier in hopes of taking home the title of champion and possibly breaking a world record.
Being Dim Mak, we can never resist a challenge, so we teamed up with our good friends at We Are Matik to create the Interactive Boombox Flugtag. While we didn’t take first place or set a world record, we did get a 7.5 for creativity and kicked it with the Workaholics doods (see below). Next year we plan on returning to the annual Red Bull Flugtag with a vengeance like no other – DOMINATION #BYANYMEANSNECESSARY

Well, well, well- lookie here! It’s a new remix of early 90’s anthem, “Smells Like Teen Spirit” from Nirvana. The leader in the Seattle grunge scene, in fact their beloved In Utero album turned twenty years old last week. We get that this rock song has been redone for over twenty years, so we thought we should giveaway a remix that one-ups the competition for #FreeFriday. A first for Dim Mak, we have some stellar news to share with the hardstyle community, and the dedicated family of electronic dance music as a whole. We are excited to announce that our first ever hardstyle signee, Coone, has topped the Beatport Hard Dance chart! The Belgian native dropped “Our Fairytale (Theme of Tomorrow 2013)” just under a week ago as a Beatport exclusive, and it has already shot all the way to the top of its respective genre chart.
The second single from his upcoming full-length album Global Dedication, “Our Fairytale (Theme of Tomorrow 2013)” is the official track for Q-Dance video coverage at TomorrowWorld 2013. Featuring the vocals of Chris Madin, Coone himself is excited to spin the track and perform at this year’s inaugural TomorrowWorld event in Chattahoochee. Coone plays on Saturday, September 28th of the Georgia festival, as well as at The Sound of Q-Dance on October 5th, alongside hardstyle contemporaries Noisecontrollers, Wildstylez, Gunz for Hire and more.
As he prepares to hit the road once again this fall, Grammy-nominated international producer/DJ and electronic dance music entrepreneur STEVE AOKI has announced additional support acts for his upcoming Aokify America Tour. For the tour, AOKI has drafted an elite group of artists from the DIM MAK roster—the independent record label, events and lifestyle company, and apparel line he founded in 1996 and presenting partner of the tour—including Felix Cartal, Autoerotique, Dirtyphonics, Keys N Krates, Garmiani, Deorro, Rune RK, and Botnek as well as a new, specially designed production from performer Kryoman entitled HEX3D. Already featuring a stellar lineup with bass “Legend” Borgore and hip-hop heavyweight Waka Flocka Flame as direct support, with special guest Pharrell Williams (The Neptunes/N.E.R.D.) appearing on select dates, the Aokify America Tour stands as one of the highlights on this year’s touring circuit. Tickets for the Aokify America Tour are on sale now: aokifyamerica.com.
The newly confirmed rotating talent on the Aokify America Tour adds a diverse array of artists spanning a wide spectrum of electronic music styles. Coming off his most successful release to date with the Past, Present, Felix EP on Dim Mak Records—praised by ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT and BILLBOARD.COM, who called featured track “New Scene” “one of the best dance recordings of the year”—Felix Cartal brings his signature electro house sounds. Toronto-based electro producer Autoerotique adds a heavier sound to the mix, best exemplified on the latest track“Play It Again” and the recent Asphyxiation (Remixes) EP, both out now on Dim Mak Records. Featured on AOKI’s Deadmeat Tour in 2012, French electronic dance music quartet DIRTYPHONICS return with their trademark heavy bass heard on their debut full-length album Irreverence and the corresponding No Stopping Us (Remixes) EP, both available now on Dim Mak Records. Dubbed “EDM’s hottest live band” by BILLBOARD.COM and featured by USA Today, Toronto-based live electronic outfit Keys N Krates recently released their SOLOW EP on Dim Mak Records, which highlights their trap-tinged electronic/hip-hop hybrid sound. Also featured on the tour are producers Garmiani, Deorro, house/techno artist Rune RK, and production/DJ duo Botnek. Additionally, performer Kryoman introduces his innovative production setup HEX3D on the Aokify America Tour, which pushes the boundaries of live, audiovisual performance art.
The new talent is not the only major tour announcement being made though. A proponent of pro-social causes and a philanthropist in his own right, AOKI’s Steve Aoki Charitable Fund is donating a dollar for every ticket sold throughout the tour to a charity selected by his fans via Facebook. Furthermore, for every year AOKI has been alive, he will match a corresponding $1,000 for a total of $36,000 on the tour. Fans will be encouraged to vote for their chosen charity from a group of four pre-selected organizations, including: American Brain Foundation, committed to curing brain disease; University of Rochester – Memory Care Program, providing diagnosis, treatment, and care of neurodegenerative conditions that affect the elderly and the aging nervous system; Brain Preservation Foundation, evaluating “plastination” and “cryonics,” two ways doctors might inexpensively preserve the brain of a dying person; and Infusio, pushing the fusion of cutting-edge science and the newest developments in complementary medicine placed in a spa-like healing environment. Fans can vote via a dedicated poll on STEVE AOKI’s official Facebook page (www.facebook.com/Steve.Aoki) starting October 9 through November 23. Following the tour, AOKI will hand deliver the check to the chosen charity. For more information, visit: www.steveaokifund.com.
