Hailing from London, the trio known as Scanners have spent the past seven years crafting some of the most diverse music out on the market. Having taken the past two years “off” to hone in on their craft, they’re now back and bigger than ever with the release of their LP Love Symmetry. In celebration of this they plan to kick off a Spring Tour, making quite a few stops throughout Germany. If you happen to find yourself in that part of the world, be sure to check out one of their performances. You won’t regret it.

237 237 Tim Gauthier

If there is anyone in the electro world right now that knows something about making stellar mix tapes and playlists, that person is undoubtedly Billy the Kit. Featuring other Dim Mak Records releases, such as Steve Aoki and Showtek, as well as a few of his original sounds, Billy The Kit’s chart is jam packed with speaker destroying tracks. Head on over to Beatport and get this epic collection of songs before your ears perish from boredom!

Felix Cartal’s ‘Tonight’ featured on a Deichmann commercial

842 473 Tim Gauthier

Felix Cartal has gone global in a whole new way! The Deichmann Group, a shoe company based out of Germany, has used Felix Cartal’s “Tonight” feat Maja Ivarsson in their spring collection campaign. The campaign video, which you can watch below, shows fashion-forward men and women having crazy good times to the stunningly catchy “Tonight”. This track has crossed over from club favorite to international commercial status; now let’s just hope those shoes can handle the good vibrations of festival season! Glückwünsche, Felix!

Dim Mak’s Dirtyphonics and Showtek top Beatport charts!

358 262 Tim Gauthier

I think we need to have a moment of silence, out of respect for the Beatport charts that are getting slayed by Dim Mak artists!

6799994It was only five short days ago when we last heard about SHOWTEK storming the Beatport charts, and now they’re taking it to a whole new level as “Slow Down” sits at the #1 spot on the Electro House Top 100! It’s almost like they knew it would be ironic to name such an impossibly good track “Slow Down” when they have no intentions of doing so.

And that’s not all, folks. Nope. Do not adjust your computer screen even though what you’re about to read may seem highly badass… I assure you that this is real life.

dm397Those filthy DIRTYPHONICS guys have earned the coveted #1 spot on Electro House Top 100 Releases with the gnarly sounds from “IRREVERENCE”. With ten unprecedented and unique tracks, “IRREVERENCE” is a mighty force to reckon with and has taken its rightful spot at the very tippy-top of this chart. Oh, and guess who else is sitting high and mighty on the Electro House Top 100 Releases? It’s SHOWTEK at #5 with their “Crunk/Slow Down” EP!

I’ll tell you what; it does the heart and the ears good to see these hard working and uber talented artists from Dim Mak Records kick so much butt. Keep up the good work Showtek and Dirtyphonics, we’ll keep dancing, and the charts will continue to bow down.

Out Now: MUST DIE! – Water Temple

600 600 Tim Gauthier

[lightbox url=”http://itun.es/i6J56v8″ width=”100%” height=”100%” iframe=”true”][/lightbox] [lightbox url=”http://btprt.dj/17aQb5O” width=”100%” height=”100%” iframe=”true”][/lightbox] [lightbox url=”http://spoti.fi/14KDNKo” width=”100%” height=”100%” iframe=”true”][/lightbox] [lightbox url=”http://www.youtube.com/embed/videoseries?list=PLP3NmVJWzd3PtnOxboNr5Spr3wGdV5npE” width=”960″ height=”540″ iframe=”true”][/lightbox]

Following a veritable slew of chart-topping dubstep releases, blossoming producer MUST DIE! presents with Water Temple an EP that is anthemic, nostalgic, and already beloved by industry insiders. Foremost, the title track pulls at our heartstrings as solidly as it drops. The unapologetically distinct intro breaks into a rare showcase of the melody and throwback sound that will later carry the whole song, punctuated only by the slap of waves and impressive “underwater” dubstep growls. With a bass drop that is as detailed as it is emotive, “Water Temple” demands to stay in rotation for ages to come.

Consequence of Sound – Album Review: Dirtyphonics – Irreverence

240 240 Tim Gauthier

The beginning of Irreverence dabbles in intricate melodic piano ambiance that one may expect from a historic four-piece of classically trained French gentlemen – so it’s mildly shocking to know that Dirtyphonics first honed their production skills with metal riffs. After teasing bass fanatics with more than a half-decade spent tempo-shifting club bangers from the Bloody Beetroots (“Warp”) to Benny Benassi (“Electroman”) and Krewella (“Killin’ it”), the collective builds the initial drop of their debut LP across nearly five minutes and two tracks — the classical arrangement of ”Prelude (White)”, and the epic march of “Prelude (Black)” — before finally rewarding fans with a devastating rolling bass release.

Similar to Korn’s The Path of Totality, Irreverence fuses the brutality associated with late-’90s nu-metal and current bass-music. Unlike their predecessors, “Los Angeles”, which features fellow European electro-metal outfit Modestep, and “Walk in the Fire” are an earnest bridge between the sound of their youths toward today’s obsession with bass wobbles and not a feeble attempt to maintain relevancy…
