2012 hit a sad note for Crookers fans when the duo announced that Bot would be going his separate way while Phra carried the Crookers name as a solo venture, and we’ve been waiting ever since to hear something from Bot‘s solo studio sessions. And it looks like the wait is finally over; on April 9th, devoted fans will finally get a sampling of what sort of saucy sounds Bot can make on his own as he releases “Vamos / Go Down” on Dim Mak Records.
This is huge, y’all! Once you’ve heard this track, you’ll be totally salivating for more of what this Italian mega-machine can do. The sounds of “Vamos / Go Down” are completely unlike anything we’ve heard before; it’s like the dance gods took extra special care in forming a talent as refined, energetic, and absolutely unique as Bot’s. The teaser video below is reminiscent of the Saved By the Bell opening credits, but with thunderous beats and super charged layers blazing into your ears over psychedelic visuals. With a video like this, and a breathtaking producer like Bot, this release is going to be one for the history books.
DJ Pierre is no stranger to producing music that pushes boundaries and creates new ways of conceptualizing genres. As one of the original founders of Acid House, he has spent more than a decade delivering innovative and cutting edge underground house music. His most recent release, Seleckta, features Rory from Stone Love on the vocals and provides a Rasta-esque vibe that gets us moving and grooving. He recently concocted an acid heavy Beatport mix, showcasing some of his favorite sounds. Here you can scope tracks from Dim Mak heavyweights Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, Harvard Bass, a remix from Boys Noize, and many more.
Now that we’re all fully recovered from SXSW and Ultra Music Festival we’d like to share with you raw footage from our Austin Showcase of Will Brennan free styling. This is just a taste of the rappers talent, who recently released his debut Dim Mak EP, RNR. For more videos of our recent adventures in Austin and Miami, check out our official YouTube channel.

The beginning of Irreverence dabbles in intricate melodic piano ambiance that one may expect from a historic four-piece of classically trained French gentlemen – so it’s mildly shocking to know that Dirtyphonics first honed their production skills with metal riffs. After teasing bass fanatics with more than a half-decade spent tempo-shifting club bangers from the Bloody Beetroots (“Warp”) to Benny Benassi (“Electroman”) and Krewella (“Killin’ it”), the collective builds the initial drop of their debut LP across nearly five minutes and two tracks — the classical arrangement of ”Prelude (White)”, and the epic march of “Prelude (Black)” — before finally rewarding fans with a devastating rolling bass release.
Similar to Korn’s The Path of Totality, Irreverence fuses the brutality associated with late-’90s nu-metal and current bass-music. Unlike their predecessors, “Los Angeles”, which features fellow European electro-metal outfit Modestep, and “Walk in the Fire” are an earnest bridge between the sound of their youths toward today’s obsession with bass wobbles and not a feeble attempt to maintain relevancy…

What happens when you pair the chief of Dim Mak Records with one half of Dirtyphonics during Ultra Music Festival? The most recent episode of AOKI FILES, of course!
