It is time yet again for another Spotify Spotlight and for this week’s playlist, we take a look at some of the newest releases from Steve Aoki’s powerhouse label, Dim Mak. The LA-based label, which was started in 1996, has been a huge player in the electronic music scene, helping to break artists such as The Bloody Beetroots, MSTRKRFT, and Felix Cartal. On Jan. 21, the label put out it’s 500th release and doesn’t seem ready to slow down anytime soon.
The playlist below includes several of the most popular tracks from new releases including The Chainsmokers’ #SELFIE, I Just Can’t Deny from Keys N Krates’ Solow EP, and more recently Tristan Garner’s Imperium, which was released last week.

So Diplo, Travis Porter and Angger Dimas walk into a bingo bar somewhere in the south with their infamous Twerk Team. See what happens and the looks on the regular clienteles faces in the new video for “Biggie Bounce” off Diplo’s Revolution EP out now via iTunes.
There’s only one artist coming out of the electronic scene right now who’s embodiment of music, art and culture provokes a movement in itself, that artist is Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo alias The Bloody Beetroots and his new endeavor only drives his pioneering dominance even further.
All great masterminds have a secret weapon up their sleeve, so why shouldn’t you? Beatport named “Wild Out (Ookay Remix)” to their Secret Weapons chart for electro house, so all you kids can wild out in secret. Grab it now from the chart for just $1.99, not even one million dollars (pinky to lip). It doesn’t come with sharks with lasers attached to their frikken heads though… Then again, if the chart is secret weapons and they send it to everybody, is it really a secret anymore? Anyways, check out the full list below.
Will Brennan and Harlem’s Austin Millz release a video for their west coast inspired collab, “Get Up And Go.” The video contains footage from the duo’s “Bridge The Gap” tour with SL Jones as well as studio sessions and behind-the-scenes clips from a busy first year with Dim Mak for Will. Towards the end of the visual we get a look at some candid footage of Steve Aoki teaching Will how to do a backflip and stage dive.

The winter Olympics are here and what better way to show our patriotism than offer up a sale via the most American company there is?!! That’s right, we’re talking about the middle man to all of your strange and impulsive desires. The one that sells canned unicorn meat, cat scratch turntables, all-edge brownie pans, iPhone cases for $0.25, and they’ll even deliver your groceries! You have the world at your fingertips, literally, you don’t even have to leave your reclining memory phone cushioned chair which you bought on Amazon! Ah, America the great.
The point we’re trying to make, is that we’re offering up some hot deals on numerous recently released records including: Keys N Krates ‘SOLOW’ EP, Linkin Park & Steve Aoki “A Light That Never Comes” Remix EP, Borgore “Wild Out” EP, Coone ‘Global Dedication’, and more!
So head on over to http://goo.gl/KJZGLS to support your favorite artist, support your favorite record label, and support the Olympians as they head into battle this glorious weekend.
If you’ve been a fan of Dim Mak for awhile now, the name Kele Okereke probably rings a bell. If it doesn’t, the name Bloc Party definitely should. Kele is the frontman for award-winning British rock band Bloc Party who released their self-titled EP on Dim Mak back in 2004! Bloc Party also performed at our beloved #DimMakTuesdays at Cinespace and we’ll always consider them to be a special part of the Dim Mak family.

Kele is currently touring North America in support of his “Heartbreaker” EP, out now on Crosstown Rebels and available on Beatport. The album features four tracks that display Kele’s love for underground electronic dance music. Here’s a quote from Kele about the EP:
“I’ve always loved the inclusive and spiritual nature of house music, so the opportunity to make music for the most iconic and influential house music label in the UK is a dream come true for me.”
On Monday, February 10th, we are honored to be hosting this talented musician at Sound Nightclub where Kele will be performing a special dj set. The event is FREE with RSVP – head to dimmakevents.com to get on the guest list!

Incase you didn’t hear, last night Keys N Krates were forced to cancel their live performance in Hollywood @ Avalon due to a low-life gaining access to their green room and stealing their laptops before they went on. KNK took to Facebook this morning to inform their fans of what happened and inadvertently announce their next single “Understand Why.” However, a little laptop debacle isn’t going to hold them back from doing what they love. This morning they leaped to that #1 spot on Hype Machine with their new track “All The Time (Tove Lo Flip)” which was premiered just a few days ago. Have a listen(above) and be sure to ‘favorite’ it to keep them at the top!
[highlighttext title=”To whom ever stole our laptops. Could ya just collect all and save the ‘understand why’ ableton session and send it to us at firstname.lastname@example.org ? That’s our next single and we worked really hard on that, and it’s be sweet to not have to remake it.. cause we had those kicks and 808s sounding hard as hell. You can keep our passports.” titlesize=”h6″ subtitle=””][/highlighttext]
