URB Magazine recently featured Proxy’s November 6th release, Music From the Eastblock Jungles Pt.1 in their latest, Album in Focus feature. URB describes the album as a “rare body of work that invokes the classic rhetoric and arrangements of D&B/Jungle, while maintaining one fit in the door of the current grit and grime that has encompassed the darker state of EDM in the current market.” With days away from the release, Proxy’s album is now available for pre-order on iTunes.

Hood Famous Music’s monthly podcast hosted by MING. The podcast features the best in todays EDM and exclusive mixes from guest artists.
“Armed with a newfound sense of liberation, over two decades’ worth of production know-how and tools, and inspiration from dance music’s bevy of new champions, MING is looking toward the musical future he always dreamed of.
“It’s exciting to hear this new sonic thing that’s happening, similar to what we had when we were mixing genres in the old days. But now it’s crossing over not just to dance kids, but to metal heads and rock people,” he says. “It’s exciting to see 18-years-olds stage-diving at dance shows. I’m inspired by the people who have done something with this genre that was considered dead. We’ve gone past the ‘everybody’s a DJ’ phase: Now people are good producers and good DJs.”
But the sweetest part of all for this musician-by-blood is just being back in the mix. “I’ve got something to say – again,” says MING. “I felt like it had been said and done. Now I have my voice back.”

XLR8R has been following the exploits of Azari & III for quite some time. Back in the summer of 2010, we did an in-depth feature on the elusive outfit, and in the months and years that followed, we’ve seen the Toronto-based group turn out a solid array of singles, videos, and even a self-titled debut full-length, all without thrusting themselves completely into the spotlight. Even now, as the album is being reissued today—surprisingly enough, via the Dim Mak imprint—and the group is set to embark on a large-scale North American tour put together by Barcelona’s Sónar festival, the popularity of Azari & III can largely be traced back to one thing: the music…More & Tracklist
Need a little pick me up this Tuesday afternoon? If you answered yes, then I highly suggest you take a look at Dirtyphonics official music video for their latest single, DIRTY. The music video features a collage of footage from popular music videos and film compiled into four minutes that will leave you saying, “Think DIRTY, Say DIRTY, Move DIRTY, Dance DIRTY.”
Yesterday, Felix Cartal released the biggest tease we’ve probably all encountered in awhile with his latest single, No Sleep. The single set to release December 4, features vocals from Los Angeles based singer, Natalie Angiuli and will be the first new release from Felix since his album, Different Faces. Until December, Felix has left us all on the edge of our seats with this twenty second teaser asking ourselves a million questions- check out the video for yourself if you don’t believe me.
This is the first of a mixtape series called “WEAPONS” containing feature tracks from Proxy, Haezer, Autoerotique, Blatta&Inesha, Mustard Pimp, Gtronic, Stereoheroes, Mastertrons & more. It also includes a new Vegamoore Remix and the upcoming track on Dim Mak Records“Gladiators”.
Today, Toronto electronic group AZARI & III unleash the North American release of their self-titled debut album on Dim Mak Records featuring all the original tracks: the velvety refrains of “Reckless (With Your Love),” the creeping melancholy of “Manhooker” and the unhinged technopera of “Undecided,” along with previous hit releases “Hungry for the Power” and “Manic.”
To celebrate the release of the album and the launch of the tour, AZARI & III have unleashed an exclusive mix for tastemaker outlet XLR8R as part of their celebrated podcast series.
