Now that March has come to an end and April is in full effect it’s time to start counting down the days until the April 16th release of GTRONIC’s EP, ‘Morpheus & Dufus.’ With only 15 days until the release, GTRONIC has uploaded a full preview on SoundCloud. You can take a listen now as well as grab GTRONIC’s previous release, Sergeant Bass.
The beginning of Irreverence dabbles in intricate melodic piano ambiance that one may expect from a historic four-piece of classically trained French gentlemen – so it’s mildly shocking to know that Dirtyphonics first honed their production skills with metal riffs. After teasing bass fanatics with more than a half-decade spent tempo-shifting club bangers from the Bloody Beetroots (“Warp”) to Benny Benassi (“Electroman”) and Krewella (“Killin’ it”), the collective builds the initial drop of their debut LP across nearly five minutes and two tracks — the classical arrangement of ”Prelude (White)”, and the epic march of “Prelude (Black)” — before finally rewarding fans with a devastating rolling bass release.
Similar to Korn’s The Path of Totality, Irreverence fuses the brutality associated with late-’90s nu-metal and current bass-music. Unlike their predecessors, “Los Angeles”, which features fellow European electro-metal outfit Modestep, and “Walk in the Fire” are an earnest bridge between the sound of their youths toward today’s obsession with bass wobbles and not a feeble attempt to maintain relevancy…

What happens when you pair the chief of Dim Mak Records with one half of Dirtyphonics during Ultra Music Festival? The most recent episode of AOKI FILES, of course! Taking time out of pool parties, stage diving, and epic sets during Ultra, Steve took Charly and Pitchin poolside to talk about their latest release, IRREVERENCE, and the massive Irreverence Tour that kicked off March 27th.
As if the recent release of the game changing album IRREVERENCE wasn’t mind blowing enough, the French quartet kicks off a three month bus tour spanning the United States and Canada, including stops at both weekends of Coachella. Not only will they make it raver-rain with the sensational tracks from IRREVERENCE, they are also revealing brand spankin’ new stage production that is sure to accentuate their already striking, unforgettable sounds.
If you’re looking to have your ear drums blasted and your mind electrified this summer, the IRREVERENCE TOUR is a damn good place to start. Find your city below and prepare in advance to call in to work or school too #dirty to function.
Aaaah, spring time. A time for flowers, soft rain showers, and… GROUND BREAKING ANTHEMS? What?! This ain’t your grandma’s season anymore. Leading the pack of up and coming crowd pumping anthems to be released in the next few months is “This Record” by Jacob Van Hage and Billy the Kit, out on Dim Mak Records on April 2nd.
“This Record” is a heart racing, sweat inducing track that takes what you thought you knew about electro house and mind numbing drops and makes your knowledge look like that of a two year old with a toy piano. We’ve come to expect nothing less than pure music magic from the duo Jacob Van Hage and Billy the Kit, so when these forces combine as they have for “This Record”, the result is sure to be devastating to sound systems for the rest of the year.
Check out a sneak peak of “This Record” and start counting down the days until April 2nd when this scorching track can be yours to bump indefinitely, courtesy of Dim Mak Records.
Veteran producers SHOWTEK are not new to the world of dance music. In fact, for the last thirteen years they have been making music that has garnered high praise and the attention of some of the biggest names in pop music today. 2013 is shaping up to be another exciting year for the Dutch duo as they climb charts with absolutely no intention of slowing down at all.
Earlier this month SHOWTEK released “Slow Down” on Dim Mak Records, and just a few days ago this hyper tune sat at #8 on Beatport’s Top10….but oh what a difference a few days (and unyielding support from fans) can make! As of today, “Slow Down” is now sitting pretty at #2! And for good reason…I mean have you heard this track? It’s fun, it’s alive, it’s energetic, and it’s looking at the #1 spot with fire in its eyes while cracking its knuckles.
This isn’t the first time SHOWTEK have seen some chart love; “Slow Down” is the fifth release from these producing brothers to make it into the Beatport Top 10, and we here at Dim Mak Records are ultra proud to be the home of this latest chart-climbing, epic dance anthem that is sure to be on every playlist/mixtape/countdown for the rest of the year. Listen to the track below and let’s get these guys to #1 all across the board!
The EDM Network, purveyors of all the best in dubstep, drum and bass, glitch hop, moombahton, house, and electro beats, have shown some serious affection for Dim Mak‘s own pride and joy, Dirtyphonics. This group of four highly talented producers have been absolutely smashing it on the live touring circuit, and their full length Irreverance release has garnered the attention of music lovers everywhere. Two tracks off the album, “The Mechanism” and “Hanging On Me” have recently been featured on The EDM Network‘s sites, GlitchHop.net and Dubstep.net, respectively. Be sure to check out what they have to say about the group that has been challenging and reworking traditional conceptions of these different genres, and don’t forget to check out their tour schedule to see if they’ll be making a stop at a city near you!

Whether you prefer the sounds of dubstep bassiness or fast flowing, mind numbingly good lyrics (or perhaps a mixture of both), I have fantastic news; warm up your “high five” hand because we here at Dim Mak Records are super psyched to announce that our very own Will Brennan has landed at #9 on TrackItDown’s “Top 100 Dubstep Songs”!
It really shouldn’t be a surprise, especially if you’ve heard which song TrackItDown chose; RNR (Enferno Remix). This remix is nice and chunky, like delicious southwest salsa, and every bit as hot. Released exactly a week ago today on Dim Mak Records, “RNR” and its creator Will Brennan have had an incredibly exciting March. He tore up the stage at the Electric Lounge during SXSW, unleashed the “RNR” EP plus all its delicious remixes into the world, and now he’s hanging out at #9 on a list chock full of heavy hitters. I’d say that all the hard work this young Florida native is putting in has paid off, but the success of “RNR” and Brennan’s placement on the chart speaks loud and clear. Congrats Will & Enferno!
I like things that are shredded. Shredded cheese? Legitimately delicious on everything. Shredder from TMNT? A sufficiently spine tingling villain with a dislike for pizza loving turtles. But you know what I love more than both of those things combined? The way Dirtyphonics’ “IRREVERANCE” is shredding on numerous BEATPORT charts right now!
As of today, here is where “IRREVERANCE” stands in the illustrious Beatport charts:
Top 100 Release: #8
Drum & Bass Top 100 Releases: #2
Dubstep Top 100 Releases: #2
Electro House Top 100 Releases: #2
With tracks like “Chaos” and “No Stopping Us” featuring Foreign Beggars, it’s clear that this album is going to continue to impress and climb charts all across the board. “IRREVERANCE” stands as a testament to old and new listeners alike that Dirtyphonics are increasingly great at making music that takes no prisoners, just leaves a trail of #dirty fans ready for more heart pounding, crowd pleasing, and game changing bangers.
BOOTIK teams up with Silvertongue for a smashing new single on Steve Aoki‘s Dim Mak imprint. “In My Head” is a sublime blend of nasty dubstep basslines with catchy pop vocals, and features remixes by Moonbootica, Revolvr, MING, Breakdown, Bartosz Brenes & Madax! BOOTIK Tour…

For one week out of the year, all eyes are on the Lone Star state as thousands of fans, bands, bloggers, vendors, and film geeks swarm the Texas state capital for SXSW.
This year, from March 14-16, a new venue with the electronic set in mind popped up on historic 6th street. Sponsored by blu eCigs, the Electric Lounge held free shows featuring some of today’s most popular and rising stars of the dance movement; so naturally, there were some incredible Dim Mak Records artists included in the lineup. We all know it’s not a party until it’s a Dim Mak party, and SXSW attendees learned that lesson first hand. Featured at the Electric Lounge were DMR artists Datsik, Keys N’ Krates, and Will Brennan. Playing to a packed, yet intimate crowd, the lounge was popping off like the buttons of a too-tight shirt on a too-round man.
The triple threat trio of Keys N’ Krates brought the house down with pumping vibrations, giving fans a taste of what’s to come in 2013 with “Treat Me Right”, the trios newest single that is placing on charts all across the board.
Will Brennan, riding the waves of his latest releases “RNR” and “Fall In Love” in celebration of the re-release of his album “Prodigal Son”, the hip hop/electro darling gave Electric Lounge a performance that dared the attendees to not throw their hands up and get down.
All in all, Dim Mak Records artists showed native Austinites and international visitors alike that the label features diverse artists who know how to please an equally diverse crowd. Thanks to everyone who supported our hard working artists at this years SXSW, and an extra special thanks to #blu eCigs and #ElectricLounge for shining their spotlight on Dim Mak Records.
Check out some of the madness that took place in the photobooth on Thursday. See the full set here.

In the wake of the destruction caused by Proxy’s mammoth double-album debut, ‘MUSIC FROM THE EASTBLOCK JUNGLES,’ the Russian demiurge returns to scour the ruins for survivors with a cluster of B-side bunker-bangers. These tracks will be hauntingly familiar to the ruined cortexes of anyone who’s ever lived through Proxy’s live show, granting fans their longtime wish of owning and coming to terms with the source of their neural trauma in digital form.
“What strikes small men as excess to me seems necessary. To crush them was not enough. I saw I needed to extinguish all hope,” says Proxy, as he continues his onslaught of live dates around the world. “My challengers had already fallen. Now they have been erased.”
You can also grab Proxy’s previous release, ‘Music From The Eastblock Jungles, Part 2′ on Dim Mak now.
“We wrote the song ‘Mexico’ after we toured a few times driving across the U.S. desert. It’s pretty mind blowing if you’re from the U.K. because there is nothing like it there at all. The heat, the space, it’s like another planet. All the time we would be driving near the border and stopping in places like El Paso, but we never made it into Mexico itself,” The Scanners Matthew Mole tells Rolling Stone. “So I suppose it always had some strange romantic appeal to us. I suppose that’s why we were so conscious of being ‘so far from home’.”
This is one you won’t want to miss, so be sure to grab the EP on iTunes, to the right or here.

Eternity EP is a conscious musical progression for me. The sound is much more refined than the previous Candy Floss Art Capitalist EP from 2011, but still gritty. I’m reaching back and infusing the sounds that got me excited about music in the first place, like punk, hardcore, and rock.

“Club Nokia was the epicenter of Trap music Friday night, with big-time performances from AraabMuzik and Flosstradamus. There were also other great opening sets by Congorock, gLAdiator, Noizfiend, Alex Bustamove, and Mature Content. The night was full of the hard hitting bass and sway inducing beats that have become synonymous with the Trap sound. Araabmuzik was first to kick off the night and he didn’t disappoint.
Araabmuzik is the type of DJ who is so solid, that you know you’re going to have a good time no matter what when you listen to his music live. One of the reasons for this sure thing is that Araabmuzik mixes live using a MPC and so everything you are hearing is coming live from his hands to the speakers and then straight to your ears. Because every drum kick and sample is mixed live, it makes for a different type of set, where the beats and rhythm are on showcase instead of any big name song drops.
He opened his set with one of his tracks “Never Have to Worry,” and immediately the crowd started to get into what was a great constant track-to-track dance party. Araabmuzik showed great variety throughout the whole set, starting with slow deep bass only to speed up the tempo and then drop right back into a monster bass drop. Araab danced the night away while mixing but he never took his hands off the table and you could tell he enjoyed performing just as much as the audience enjoyed listening. Towards the end of his set he introduced some noticeable tracks like Nero’s “Promises,” and Biz Markie’s “Let Me Clear My Throat.” All-in-all Araabmuzik’s set was a good mix of trap and other quicker electro beats.
Next up on the deck was headliner Flosstradamus. The DJ-duo is known for their hard hitting trap sets and that is exactly what they delivered. It was both a classic and unique set as the DJS dropped popular Trap tracks as well as some remixes that were unexpected. They opened up with Lana Del Rey’s “Videogames” and then mixed right into “Bugatti” by Ace Hood. Things got especially turned up when they dropped a trap remix of “Face Down, Ass Up” by Meek Mill and then launched into “What’s Your Fantasy” by Ludacris. In fact, Flosstradamus threw the beat down so hard during a mix of a new song with DJ Slink that the power actually blew out for a minute.
After the technical difficulty the duo launched back seamlessly into their set and hyped up the crowd with a remix of “Jah No Partial” by Major Lazer featuring Flux Pavillion. The rest of the set was a bevy of trap classics from Rick Ross, Waka Flacka, and Chief Keef to name a few. The highlight of the night was definitely when they dropped RL Grimes remix of “Satisfaction” by Benni Benassi and then spun right into a mix of Kanye West’s “Mercy,” and the classic techno song “Sandstrom,” by Darude.
Flosstradamus kept spinning through the night as they disappeared behind the fog that was being shot out in front of the DJ booth. When the lights hit the fog, it made them look even more awesome, as if they were illuminated in a cloudy rainbow of epic-ness.
It was a great night for trap music and EDM fans, and the crowd at Club Nokia seemed to be pleased, as they stayed through the night and seemed to dance forever.” – Jenna Browning
