Dim Mak Records starts the year off right with three killer new releases due to hit stores EVERYWHERE on February 21, 2006!


Das Oath - "Mini LP" (DM089): With their second release on Dim Mak, Das Oath once again takes hardcore to a level other bands could only dream about. Das Oath is a fine balance between classic hardcore, structuralized arty noise and 70's punk. Mix the energy of the Germs, the progressive sound of early Killing Joke, the gritty noise overload of Void and the anthemic undertones of Agnostic Front and you kind of come close to understanding the power of Das Oath. Features ex and current member of Charles Bronson, Mainstrike, Holy Molar and Oil.


Bloc Party - "Helicopter" (DM095): The first in Dim Mak's "Connect The Dots" series, this release features the song "Helicopter" (from Silent Alarm) remixed by some serious heavy hitters, including Diplo and Weird Science (Steve Aoki and Blake Miller from Moving Units) featuring the ILLUSTRIUS Peaches!!. This release is available on CD as well as special 12".





Souls She Said - "As Templar Nites" (DM096): This is the first full length from Icarus Line frontman Joe Cardamone and guitarist Don Devore. Souls She Said is a pretty big departure from The Icarus Line with Souls She Said acting as a more beat driven, dark indie rock cousin to Icarus Line's beautifully gory lo-fi sound. This album really shows off some amazing song writing ability and features guest performances from member of Need New Body and Euphone.

DIM MAK SIGNS SCANNERS!

Dim Mak has signed UK band the Scanners. Our label owner, Steve Aoki, heard the buzzes about the band from various industry friends and on a recent trip to London got to catch the band's live performance and was blown away. Next thing you know Dim Mak gets the great privilege of introducing this amazing band to the US. Dim Mak will release their full length album "Violence is Golden" this June.

THE RAKES RETURN TO THE STATES

After they teased us last fall with a short but utterly sweet visit for CMJ they come back to give us our second go around for this year's SXSW... We're talking about our super buddies The Rakes of course. The band will cross the pond for their second-ever voyage into the states for a series of shows in Austin for SXSW and will then hop over to the east coast for a few shows before heading back to the UK. Look out for the full length release to hit stores later this spring via Dim Mak/V2. Look for the album to be one of the biggest releases of the year, just you wait.

So we fell in love with some 17 year olds... and have decided that we needed to share the love by putting out a very special 7" from the spazzy young lads of Be Your Own Pet. NEW PONY UP MUSIC ON ITS WAY!

Our favorite ladies from Montreal have just turned in the masters for their brand new full length album "Make Love to the Judges with Your Eyes" and we here at Dim Mak HQ are blown away! We can't stop listening to the CD at the office and know that you all are going to love it. "Make Love to the Judges with Your Eyes" is due to hit stores on May 9th 2006. We will be streaming a few tracks here and there before the release so stay tuned to Dimmak.com, look out for a video too. Also, if you're heading down to SXSW you will get the chance to catch the band's live set at the Dim Mak showcase on March 16th at Blender Bar. Pony Up will also hit up a few cities to and from the music conference.
