The Kills consist of VV and Hotel. These two have been making music for the past year and doing a lot of home recordings where they live in the UK as well. They have a serious knack for doing great raw recordings, narcotic and saccharine - the drums alone will pull you in. Strong female presence much like Chrissie Hynde of Pretenders and Justine Frischmann from Elastica with fierce singing and wild taunts similar to Patti Smith. Male vocals much like the sounds of Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground and even some Royal Trux work. Well honed and with gorgeous delivery they will knock you on the floor. The Kills blow me away. The Kills are a whole new creature with new claws and sharp fangs to get the blood pouring again. So here is the culmination of two great artists, two of the hardest working people you'll meet, producing songs that are simply timeless. Black Rooster has been produced and engineered in Toe Rag, UK. They also cover "Dropout Boogie" by Captain Beefheart which was recorded themselves. They have recorded a song to be on 5RC's (Kill Rock Stars) compilation "IF THE 21ST CENTURY DID NOT EXIST, IT WOULD BE NECESSARY TO INVENT IT" slated to be released this year.
