Lion Fever is a new sickness; a strain of infection borne of these plague years. Lion Fever is also a band with a pedigree that includes the Lost Kids, Pleasure Forever and The VSS.

Similar to the way a virus compounds and mutates, the trio's songs are fed on the vital remains of a century's buried culture: blues, psychedelic punk, rhythm'n'blues, country and early rock'n'roll. Lion Fever doesn't aim to rewrite history, but rather to keep the disease alive. The band formed in Portland, OR during the summer of 2002 when former Lost Kids (GSL) guitarist Jennifer Pearl was cajoled by Pleasure Forever (Sub Pop) drummer David Clifford to start a band together. Powerful and precise drummer Kevin Garrison was recruited with Clifford opting to play bass guitar and Pearl on lead vocals and guitar. The resulting five songs on this debut EP have been compared to the Gun Club, PJ Harvey, Blue Cheer, early Misfits, and the Music Machine.

The five-song debut EP "Lustre" was recorded with Kip Beelman (The Gossip, Unwound, Kinski) and features some of the band's most forceful rhythm-laced songs alongside the winsome ballad "The Zoo" and a rollicking cover of the Gun Club classic "For the Love of Ivy."

Singer/Guitarist/songwriter Jennifer Pearl played guitar in Lost Kids and Belle Isle. Her expressive guitar style blends elements of blues, 60's proto-punk, western and early rock'n'roll. Her vocals -- like those of long-forgotten honkeytonk wailers and jazz crooners - cut through with a powerful emotive clarity.

Bassist David Clifford plays drums for Pleasure Forever, and has drummed for Jim Sclavunous & the Vanity Set, The VSS and SLAVES. He also played bass for the antique cabaret act, Tarot Bolero (ex-Antioch Arrow, ex-Slant 6) and guitar in several bands since the dawn of recorded time.

Drummer Kevin Garrison spent years searching for the proper combination for his talented drumming, playing with members of Get Hustle and Angel Hair.
