Keys N Krates has been labeled a “trap” group but this band has talent way beyond making drunk white kids turn up. Drummer Adam Tune, Synth/keyboardist David Matisse and turntableist Jr. Flo are pioneers in blending live performance and electronic dance music. This Canadian trio definitely does not just press buttons and let the lasers distract you from their pre-made set. To see the LIVE talent and creativity for yourself watch these remix performances on their Youtube channel that are better than most songs on Beatport right now.
Aside from performing great music, their SOLOW EP from Dim Mak Records took over the blogosphere with the videos “Treat Me Right” making the Top 10 Vimeo Videos and “Dum Dee Dum” taking #1 on Hypemachine and was nominated for MTV Clubland’s Video Pick of the Year.

While it’s all well and good to rattle off a list of accomplishments, sometimes it’s just easier to name-drop. Keys N Krates has toured and played alongside Bassnectar, Skrillex, Kid Cudi, Pretty Lights, Major Lazer, Girl Talk and Zeds Dead in recent years, and received support from notable electronic artists such as Diplo and TNGHT. There’s a smorgasbord of talent in this Toronto-based trio — Dave Matisse on keyboards, Adam Tune on drums and Jr. Flo on turntables — which has been blending electronic and trap music with rap beats since 2008. They played SXSW, Ultra and Wakarusa music festivals, and are getting ready to release their SoLow EP in September. (via USA Today)
Happy Tuesday everyone, I hope you made your weekends vast and epic as you should. I just wanted to touch base with everyone, catch up, and recap some time I spent last weekend with Infected Mushroom. The Israel-bred, LA based duo is made up of Amit “Duvdev” Duvdevani, and Erez Eisen. They started collaborating in 1997 in Kiryat Yam, Haifa District, Israel.
In addition to twice being voted into the top 10 for DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJ’s, they have also left footprints in both dance and rock genres, having worked with Perry Farrell from Jane’s Addiction and Jonathan Davis from Korn.
The two have released such hit albums as 2009’s Legend of the Black Shwarma, which peaked at #9 on Billboard’s Top Electronic Albums chart, scored such dance hits as “Killing Time” and “Smashing the Opponent,” and to top it all off, they average about 120 live performances a year. Boom goes the dynamite. Also, out today on Dim Mak Records, “Friends on Mushrooms, Vol. 2.”
Now these live performances brought about a revolutionary live show, which I’m sure you’ll know what I’m talking about if you’ve ever been to one of their gigs. The set is a 3D landscape designed by Vita Motus Design Studio and V Squared Labs; it is truly one of a kind, and they brought it to the Avalon this past Saturday, July 7th to have a little playtime with the L.A. fans. I had the good fortune to steal a quick conversation with them before they hit the stage. (via MAGNETIC MAG)

Dark pop/alternative indie band, Scanners performed their featured track “Control” at the Dim Max x Buygore Austin 2013 Showcase where the band played live alongside some of Dim Mak and Buygore’s biggest artists. “Control” is the melodic and gritty guitar filled single off their new album ‘Love is Symmetry’. The music video for “Control” is a compilation of different live performances the band did in Austin and highlights their passionately energetic stage presence and their signature folky alternative sound.
The London based band is making their highly anticipated return back to the world of music after two years of silence with the release of their new album ‘Love is Symmetry’, their third full-length album on Dim Mak Records scheduled to be release in June 2013.
Scanners have been a part of Dim Mak’s roster of artists since 2006, after Dim Mak chief, Steve Aoki, came across their track, “Violence is Golden” on the internet and later made a trip to London and signed the band. Since then, Scanners have released their debut and sophomore albums, ‘Violence is Golden’ (2006) and ‘Submarine’ (2010) on Dim Mak as precursors to ‘Love is Symmetry’. But their success does not stop there. They have also been featured on a number of popular television shows including Gossip Girl, Shameless, One Tree Hill, Entourage, and a live performance on the ‘Carson Daly’ Show. Along with their television show features, Scanners have supported distinguished acts worldwide including Silversun Pickups, Devo, and Juliette and The Licks among many others.
In April, the band toured around Germany in celebration of ‘Love is Symmetry’ and will continue touring the States and Europe throughout 2013.
