Dim Mak “Up All Night” Cabo

772 445 Tim Gauthier

Dim Mak goes south to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in the next installment of the Up All Night video series. Following the debauchery worldwide, the Up All Night video series documents the Dim Mak lifestyle on the road and across the globe as seen through the eyes of Dim Mak artists and crew as well as founder Steve Aoki.

In this Spring Break special edition of Up All Night, we are joined by bass heads Datsik and Borgore as well as Congorock, Autoerotique, Jerome LOL, Anna Lunoe and more. In the video, Datsik downs the beer and margaritas, Borgore sings a capella, and Autoerotique and Jerome LOL slay the decks.

At Dim Mak, we’ve got the girls, we’ve got the booze, we’ve got the pool parties, we’ve got the floaties. All we need is YOU!

Scanners fans, rejoice! The quartet is back after two years of silence with the release of their full length album “LOVE IS SYMMETRY” today on Dim Mak Records! Go ahead and do a celebratory dance around your living room/cubicle/desk/etc. I’ll wait. Done? Awesome! Let’s talk about how cool this album is, shall we? 12 tracks of pure transcendental music that we’ve come to associate with the Scanners name, “Love Is Symmetry” is the perfect indie-dance cool down you’ll need this summer. Sometimes dancey, sometimes chillingly mellow, sometimes sexy, and always completely brilliant, “Love Is Symmetry” may be the most enduring album to date for this uber talented group. In a world permeated by hot and heavy beats and wibble wobbles, Scanners feel like a an ice cold glass of southern sweet tea to the soul. Get your indie movie vibes on with Scanners’ “Love Is Symmetry”, an album well worth the two year wait.

Rolling Stone Daily Download: ‘Mexico’ by The Scanners

645 645 Tim Gauthier

Screen Shot 2013-02-20 at 1.27.16 PM

“We wrote the song ‘Mexico’ after we toured a few times driving across the U.S. desert. It’s pretty mind blowing if you’re from the U.K. because there is nothing like it there at all. The heat, the space, it’s like another planet. All the time we would be driving near the border and stopping in places like El Paso, but we never made it into Mexico itself,” The Scanners Matthew Mole tells Rolling Stone. “So I suppose it always had some strange romantic appeal to us. I suppose that’s why we were so conscious of being ‘so far from home’.”

This is one you won’t want to miss, so be sure to grab the EP on iTunes, to the right or here.
