[info_box_2 title=”ABOUT THE RELEASE”]

Many producers like to stick to a genre. IllSkillz is not one of those people. His full-length Smash The Parade sets aside any pre-existing notions that a producer must stay lumped in one category. Across the twelve-track album, IllSkillz explores a diverse range of genres. From the hardest electro house and dubstep, to tracks with hip-hop crossover appeal, IllSkillz leaves no stone unturned.

Previously released as a Dim Mak single, “Birdz” is grindingly rough electro house with wild LFOs riding on top. “Euphorica” takes a different approach–anthemic, big room dubstep wobbles alongside a beautiful melody sure to leave a lasting impression. The closing track on the album, “Never Step Back”, harkens back to IllSkillz’s sound historically. “Never Step Back” lays the superb vocals of Nina expertly overtop of a complex drumstep beat. All it takes is one listen to hear that Smash The Parade fully charts through the realms of electronic music.

[info_box_2 title=”ABOUT THE RELEASE”]

The latest effort from Belgian duo Sound of Stereo, Funk / Jive, tells two opposite sides of a similar story. On one end, “Funk” is a dance floor filler track, featuring a build-up with an ever intense climbing motion. The song drops into a body rocking electro synth, citing some influence from Dutch sounds. On the other end is “Jive”. Sound of Stereo merges vocal sounds with classic electro synths into one firm package, with a dramatic build dropping into Dutch-influenced synths once again.

The sounds of Funk / Jive are bound to entice crowds worldwide. Look out for these latest electro gems from Sound of Stereo.

[info_box_2 title=”ABOUT THE RELEASE”]

“Wild Out” from Bosnian artist SkitzoFrenix is a dance floor bomb taking the best of electro with classic house sensibilities. Starting off with a drop that teases at what’s to come, “Wild Out” leans on its percussive background as it unfolds. When the next drop rolls around, SkitzoFrenix lets the electro synths go into high-pitched antics.

The Jeff Doubleu remix brings “Wild Out” down into a gritty, dark and dirty place. Be sure to cop both versions to get a full reflection of how “Wild Out” can play both sides of the electro coin.

[info_box_2 title=”ABOUT THE RELEASE”]

Run Hide Survive EP is the newest effort from Brighton outfit SOUTH CENTRAL, pushing the expectations of what electro can be. “Drop It” at first plays much like a big room progressive track, complete with lush chord progressions and a memorable build up. When it drops though–all bets are off. A laser frenzy greets you on “WTF U LOOKIN AT”, leading into a fat bass attack and a sweet melody overtop. The breakdown on this track leads into a deafeningly overbearing dub section sure to leave subwoofers crying. “Invasion” is undoubtedly electro, with elements that compliment the grimy theme of SOUTH CENTRAL. The extra added touch is the menacing vocals that fit snug like a glove alongside this angered track. These three will certainly be found in the next high octane set coming to a dance event near you.

The Back Off, Bitch! remix EP invites a diverse palate of producers to try their hand at the Static Revenger and Kay original. Dim Mak enlists the help of Melbourne Bounce favorite J-Trick to give this electro track a much needed Down Under attack. Next up are two remixes by Jealous Much?, taking cues from hip-hop and trap music while keeping the house intact as well. Alter Natives shows off the true trap end of the spectrum, slowing the electro house to a proper hip-hop speed. Last but not least is the jolliest of the package, Taco Cat’s remix dub. Keeping with the Melbourne Bounce theme, the “Back Off, Bitch!” lead has been made into the happiest sounding remix of 2013. The track may be titled “Back Off, Bitch!”– but this remix will clearly put smiles on faces.

[info_box_3 title=”ABOUT THE RELEASE”]

2013 has been a huge year for English alternative band, “Scanners.” This June marked the release of their long awaited third album, “Love is Symmetry” on Dim Mak Records. To follow up, 5 songs on the album have been chosen for 8 remixers to give their interpretation on Scanners. First off the Ep is Fei-Fei’s remix of the title track. She takes the song’s energy up a few notches with her invigorating, bass-heavy style. Next, Carpenter Brut’s electro spin does something similar on “Control” by including a heavy rock influence. T.W.I.N.S then takes “Mexico” and adds an indie dance vibe, resulting in a fun, playful beat. Then, “State of Wonder” gets a “hard bass” remix by Zeskulls. The intro keeps the good-feel vibes of the original tune, but then takes a quick turn as Zeskull’s signature wobbles takes the driving wheel. The 5th remix on the EP is another remix of “Control” by Boots N’ Pants. As you listen to this remix, let your mind and body get carried away with this relaxing, deep house groove. The energy picks up again with the second remix of “State of Wonder,” a pumping electro-house track tailored by Kevin Focus. Following next is a creative, beat-intensive, drum n’ bass remix by Aeronautica. Their expert sound design adds a unique touch to this remix of “Mexico.” Finally, the Remix Ep ends on a great note with Hiroshima Twinky’s take on “Control.,” a beautiful piece that is easy to fall in love with.
