On Felix Cartal‘s latest single, “Let It Go,” the Canadian producer combines pop and electronic elements in a way that’s far from coerced or cliché in the sea of pop-EDM collabs. The track is one of three from his forthcoming EP, Credits, due out on April 29th via Steve Aoki‘s imprint, Dim Mak Records. Another striking detail of “Let It Go” is the beautiful and soulful vocals of Lily Elise. “This song serves as the final piece to my Credits EP, an EP of three songs that all complement each other differently. I wanted to continue the idea of my last EP where each song is different, but still sound like they are from the same sessions. My favorite part of this track has to be the ‘Let It Go’ break. It’s simple and powerful at the same time. Lily Elise made that all possible. Her voice is unreal,” Felix says.
“Let It Go” is the perfect made-for-film soundtrack to its accompanying black and white video. “I love what Kasey Lum came up with for the video. We filmed all day just around our city and I think the blend of animation with black and white footage creates this interesting surrealist vibe — a perfect complement to the song itself.”

Swedish house/electro producer Garmiani presents the official music video for his track “Dance Motherfucker” his “Rumble” EP available now on Dim Mak Records. The video is a silly homage to pseudo Euro gangsters and features a swanky, pink stretch limo, a talking sandwich, and a cliffhanging ending (literally).
Directed by Vedran Rupic, Gustav Sundström and Matthew Lessner for Business Club Royale.

Toronto-based live electronic outfit KEYS N KRATES have today (October 17) partnered with MTV Clubland and mtvU for the premiere of the official music video for their breakthrough single “Dum Dee Dum” from their recently released SOLOW EP, out now on Dim Mak Records. The video made its on-air debut this morning on MTV Clubland and is also featured on MTV2 and mtvU. Watch the “Dum Dee Dum” music video here: http://goo.gl/xNJbVM.
Directed by Slave Labour, the video is a hilarious mockumentary that explores the Mennonite culture. In the video, the director visits various Mennonite communities and introduces members to current technology unbeknownst to them, including iPods, boom boxes, and more, all the while blaring the “Dum Dee Dum” track in full blast. The reaction from the Mennonite community to the alien sounds of “Dum Dee Dum” is priceless.
Felix Cartal’s new video for “Young Love,” the first single off his upcoming Past Present Felix EP and starring vocals from Koko LaRoo, is basically about a bunch of babes in bikinis bouncing on bicycles and bashing balloons at boys. Hope you like the letter B.
Opening shot: four ripped bros strolling down a Vancouver sidewalk. “I just finished lunch with the guys,” the main muscly guy who forgot to button his shirt says on his phone [italics are mine]. “I’m just chilling at the pool with the girls,” purrs a buxom babe at the end of the line as she slowly spreads oil all over her assets [italics again mine]. This delineation between the sexes is extremely important because it sets up the rest of the storyline, which is a—spoiler alert—PRANK WAR: GIRLS VERSUS GUYS!!!
As soon as the bros arrive at the pool (so jelly of that gigantic floating pretzel btw), guns and carnage ensue. Is this a sly political commentary on gun control laws in America? Nah… let’s just stick with balloons and boobs.
Evolve. Transcend. Prepare. The future is near, and from the looks of it in Steve Aoki and Angger Dimas’ video for “Singularity” ft My Name is Kay, it’s going to be a bumpy ride. In this voyeuristic video, Steve is at the merciless hands of mad scientist My Name is Kay and her henchman as they turn Steve into a lab rat cyborg with major rager issues, all while the brilliant Ray Kurzweil narrates what the future of mankind will look like. Part science fiction, part futurist theory, the video for the chilling track “Singularity” begs one question: are you prepared for the Neon Future?
Treat Me Right: an epic trip through space, time, and romance novels. The new video from Keys N Krates’ interprets its own ambiguous request by borrowing from the beautifully rendered (yet often ridiculous) world of vintage romance novel cover art. Spanning everything from Highlander…
So far, 2013 has been a massive year for the dynamic duo of SHOWTEK; though they’ve been behind the tables for 13 years, this seems to be the year where the fans are really demanding more from these veteran producers. If the release of their astounding EP “CRUNK/SLOW DOWN” left you clamoring for more, then today is like the best day of your life. The video for “SLOW DOWN” is live and is the perfect remedy for those of us anxious for festival season to rev up. This video has everything: doves, CO2 guns, footage of festival grounds packed with diehard fans dancing their asses off, gorgeous girls swingin’ their hair around, buff dudes fist pumping, and all the raver booty you could ever hope for…and it’s all set to the anthem of “SLOW DOWN”, which demands you throw your mother f*ckin’ hands up! In addition to all that, it shows just what kind of crazy good time you can expect from a SHOWTEK show. So turn that volume all the way up, dig out your pasties and/or sweatbands, and get ready to party in this fresh out the oven video, courtesy of SHOWTEK and Dim Mak Records.
So when did Sofia Coppola start making short films with intense dance music as the soundtrack? Oh wait… she didn’t, Tom Willems did. It’s the new Sound of Stereo (ft. Teddiedrum) music video, “Origin (One on One)”! For four minutes and fifteen seconds, I found myself sitting on the edge of my couch with emotions running at a fever pitch, a burst of laughter, and one hell of a track to help me dance the anxiety of what I was seeing away. Seriously, this music video is like an entire movie crammed into four minutes and the song itself is intoxicating and peaceful at the same time, which is not easy to do; this track could be perfect for studying to or dancing your heart out to at the club.
Scanners has been kicking around Camden for eight years now, perfecting a laser-fried blend of dance-punk and leaving beer-soaked UK club nights in their wake. According to our analytics, you’re from the States, so you’re forgiven if you haven’t been keeping up with them. They’ve kept a low profile over the past few years, but are slated to release a new LP for Dim Mak, entitled Love Symmetry, later in the year.
