Zedd’s last release, Stars Come Out, featured a remix compilation with a few reworked titles including John Dahlback, Datsik, Lazy Rich, and others. One B-Side submission was sent over by Dillon Francis, which will be available for purchase March 19th. Electrify Mag has the official preview to the remix, as hosted on their YouTube channel here.
Dillon Francis, who is renown for mixing moombahton, lovestep and techno, has taken the dance music world by storm as of late. He has put forth a prolific amount of original tracks and remixes, culminating with the release of his ‘Something, Something, Awesome’ EP. Now Francis brings us a fantastic remix of “Stars Come Out” by Zedd. His rework takes Zedd’s electro-pop track and morphs it into a moombahton track; he slows down the tempo and puts his unique signature spin on the original. The remix package of Zedd’s “Stars Come Out” will be released March 19th via Dim Mak Records. To learn more about Dillon Francis, visit his website.
Out March 12th!
Following their huge remix of Tiësto’s “Work Hard, Play Hard” in 2011, Autoerotique is at it again, this time with an original, “Bring That Beat Back”.
True to Autoerotique’s style, “Bring That Beat Back” is a ruthless electro rattler. After label boss Tiësto got his hands on the tune for a custom edit, the track has become even more of a monster, with just the right touch for those huge festival crowds.
Replete with a tooth-cracking, big room build and Autoerotique’s patented synth lines, crowds of any size will be getting down to “Bring That Beat Back” well into Summer.
SALEM recently issued a cover version to Alice Deejays prominent “Better Off Alone” rave-anthem. After the success of the ‘witch-house’ remake, Alec Empire of Atari Teenage Riot decided to throw his version, provided as a remix, available to download today, free on RCRDLBL.COM.

After the submission close for Steve’s ‘Beard Tee Remix Contest’, we counted over 100+ amazing entries! From January 25th through the 31st, we’re allowing the public to vote on their favorite t-shirt entry, crowning the winner with the official People’s Choice Award:

• Two tickets to a Steve Aoki concert date nearest to their location (travel and accommodation not provided)
• Exposure for their design which will be featured on Steve Aoki’s Facebook page
• One pair of Sol Republic headphones
• An exclusive Dim Mak merchandise package (including a Dim Mak t-shirt, a copy of ‘Wonderland’ and assorted stickers)
The winners of both Steve’s Choice and the People’s Choice will be finalized on the 31st, with an announcement to the winning submissions on February 15th.
… And good luck to all our entries! We’re blown away with all you’re creativity!!
This pack kicks off with a collaborative remix I did with my good buddies TERRAVITA. We traded the files of “Upside Down” back and forth for a few months, and the final master that Seth did makes this one of the loudest, wildest drops to date!
After that is a remix of “Red Step” by none other than Dim Mak‘s label boss, STEVE AOKI. A definitive electro house banger with a beefy halftime drop, he has been the only DJ with this weapon for a few months; now it’s yours too.
Up next is a collaboration with Amorphous Music artist ILL.GATES who spent a few days in the Bassnectar Labs this summer building synthesizers and samplers with me in Ableton. As we worked and geeked out, we built this drum & bass version of “Voodoo”, which then became a staple of my sets for the last fall tour.
The fourth track comes from long-time friends and collaborators, THE GLITCH MOB, who took “Head’s Up” into dubstep territory, with the unmistakable glitch-bass flavor.
Another mix of “Voodoo” follows; this time the basitions of creativity known as BEATS ANTIQUE flip the original into an antique bass version with live instrumentation and some surprises.
We decided to include the full version of “Color Storm” in this package since it was never properly released, and this rounds out the package.
We hope you enjoy!!!! Free bass to heat up your winter bodies, tiding you over until the next full release – the VAVA VOOM EP is set for launch April 2012!
“Don’t Turn On The Lights” (Laidback Luke Remix)
Felix Cartal – “Don’t Turn On The Lights” (Laidback Luke Remix)
Felix is out with a club-thumping new track that features vocals from Polina, a singer who has collaborated with both Steve Aoki and Kaskade in the past. The video is out, making its debut on MTV, and the slew of MTV’s promotional divisions.
The single is the first from the electronic DJ/producer’s upcoming album, ‘Different Faces’ – one that he says is meant to showcase a brand new sound and direction that the performer intends to take.
MTV News had the chance to talk to Felix about the song that he thinks is one of “catchiest” he’s ever done.
“The first single ‘Don’t Turn On The Lights’ is a chance for me to try some more memorable melodies. I really wanted to create something that people could hum along to, something that they would recognize instantly, but still with powerful, hard-hitting production behind it. Polina’s vocals really helped bring this song together to make it one of the catchiest songs I feel that I’ve ever produced.”

“House superstar Laidback Luke decided to show us all what he has been working on lately. He takes Felix Cartal’s most recent single ‘Don’t Turn On The Lights’ and places his magical spin on it. He adds some colorful synths and takes an already banging song and makes it his own.” This follow-up to December’s single release will be hitting the digital market by early-January. Since we can’t keep a secret this big, Laidback Luke posted up his teaser of the remix to hold you guys over.
Enjoy the music and Happy Holidays!
