Captured on Sunset Boulevard, we took some footage of Dim Mak Records taking over the 5th Annunal Sunset Strip Music Festival this past August. Steve Aoki headlined with a few guests, Lil Jon, Travis Barker, Will.I.Am and Miss Palmer, and annihilated a massive cake to celebrate 1 million Facebook Likes. Over at The Roxy, the Dim Mak stage was full with sets by Clockwork, PeaceTreaty, Yung Skeeter and Bones.
The long awaited remix package of Steve Aoki and Tiesto’s track, Tornado, is now available for grabs. The package offers a diverse group of remixes from Kill the Noise, Felix Cartal, and Angger Dimas.
Aoki describes each remix to a T with his thoughts on each track, “Angger Dimas puts his signature sound on this remix making it a punchy electro house banger, Felix Cartal makes the loudest and biggest record of all his productions with this remix, and Kill the Noise featuring Polina makes the most beautiful dub step remix I’ve ever heard.”
The remix package offers a well-rounded twist on the original Tornado track, so don’t miss out on this EP.
Steve’s punk single “The Kids Will Have Their Say” featuring Sick Boy and former members of The Exploited & Die Kreuzen, gets a nice makeover from Bassnectar, Andy’s iLL, and J Devil for today’s release of the remix EP!

The most important vote you can cast this year is for Steve Aoki in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs! Steve Aoki is the DJ for a brighter tomorrow, and he needs your vote to rocket him to victory. He believes that the very essence of dropping the bass starts on the face of every child. He is a man who soars above all the competition. He is working hard to preserve what matters most. A vote for Steve is a vote for the future of planet earth.
From MTV.com: While a late evening shower may have dampened the ground at the launch of Boom, Belgium’s Tomorrowland Festival, the magic of the day wasn’t hindered by it in the very least. If anything, the 60,000 fans in attendance Friday probably welcomed the cool down.
Banging sets by Joachim Garraud & Clockwork, coupled with the ecstatic raging of a few thousand fans, turned Steve Aoki’s tented Dim Mak stage into a sauna. Of course, when rapper Lil Jon walked out and “Welcomed all the ladies and gentlemen” to Tomorrowland, before launching into “Turbulence,” mayhem ensued. And speaking of raging – notable in Aoki’s set – festival goers were treated to a brand spanking new bomber of a collab with Knife Party. Fittingly, when we left Dim Mak for the day, Indonesian rising star Angger Dimas (who revealed to MTV News that a brand new Boys Will Be Boys track with Tiësto is coming soon) had just launched into “Internet Friends.”
If you haven’t been keeping up with Army of the Universe this past summer, don’t worry, here’s a refresher. For a limited time only, Army of Universe has made the featured track available for free download on their Facebook page.
Now, if you’re wondering what’s next for these guys, they are continuing with the momentum with a surprise performance alongside Steve Aoki on his European Tour this summer.
