Hi Jose! Where are your roots?
Born In LA with Hispanic blood.
How did you end up on Mad Decent / Party Like US?
I started sending my demo’s over to Diplo & AC Slater, like remixes etc. They were the only first contacts I had really. And fortunately they dig my stuff, so I stayed with my main labels for projects I did.
Moombahton or Trap?
If you could remix one song of John Lennon, what would it be?
Whatever gets you through the night.
What’s your favorite Jazz tune?
Tenacious D – JAZZ.
What would you do if you have to produce music without having energy drinks next to you?
Nothing would get accomplished. I think energy drinks help my A.D.D stay in focus.
Describe the feeling you had when you heard Kissy Sell Out playing your tracks on BBC Radio One.
It was surreal. He first played my collab w/ Mr.Vega.. I remember someone calling me telling me he played it.
I called vega.. It was like 3AM his time.. Lol, I talked about it for weeks.
What would you do to Valentino Khan if you were a girl?
Pet his mustache.
What’s your favorite soccer team?
Where do you usually get your vocal samples from?
Anywhere. Whatever I hear I like I’ll rip it. Youtube or other songs.
I’m a network thief.
What can we expect from your set during Dim Mak Sundays on February 17th?
Great vibes, great tunes and lots of sweat. And if no one is dancing I’ll get buck naked to get the crowd wild… Wait, maybe thats a bad idea.
Even though this track doesn’t come out until March 5th on Dim Mak Records, it’s no doubt that it’s already becoming a true Trap classic. Keys N Krates‘ “Treat Me Right” has been played dozens of times already by the likes of TNGHT and everybody is jumping for the track to be released. Annie Mac had the honor to premiere it during her BBC Radio 1 show this last weekend.
Over the last year, Keys N Krates toured with and played alongside artists including; Pretty Lights, Lotus, Skrillex, Girl Talk, Kid Cudi, Metric, Timbaland, Zed’s Dead and more. In 2012 the band continued to make an impact on the festival scene, playing major shows at Wakarusa, Ultra Music Festival, Movement Festival, Osheaga and Sonar in Barcelona. The band also produced several hype machine chart topping remixes for Bassnectar, Adventure Club, Zeds Dead and Nelly Furtado.
To really grasp what Tune, Matisse, and Jr. Flo bring to the stage, you have to see it up close. Their shows are filled with high-energy sets that are made to be witnessed live. The guys continue to craft and grow their sound and style, exposing audiences worldwide to the Keys N Krates experience.
You can listen to the radio rip below.

If you’ve never heard of Corporate Slackrs before, you’re sure not to forget them once you hear what they’ve done with their Trap Remix of the Beetroots x Aoki hit track Warp 1.9. It proved to be a crowd favorite when the boss man himself, Steve Aoki, dropped it at Dim Mak Studios at Tuesday nights party. The crowd lost their shit, not ONLY because of the surprise set by Steve Aoki, but a Trap remix of Warp 1.9…WTF?
We’d like to take a moment to introduce our good friend, Dabeull, side project of French beat-maker David Said, most recent work “Love Trap”. The track plays out an impeccable bounce and clap to lock you into a romantic thrill. We are honored to showcase this tightly cut ballad, and cant wait to hear more from Dabeull.
If you live in the Los Angeles area, and didn’t make your way to Dim Mak Sunday at Drai’s for RL GRIME yesterday, you definitely missed one hell of a night. RL Grime did what he did best, and had everyone in the building on their feet with his trap set. Along with the great set, Steve Aoki, the man always on tour made a special appearance to show support along with a few other familiar faces. We’d like to thank everyone that was able to come out, and hope to see you all next Sunday for another wild night. If you weren’t able to join us check out our snapshots from the event, courtesy of The Cobrasnake.
