Behind The Scenes: Wild Out Music Video Shoot w/ Borgore, Waka Flocka Flame and more

June 6, 2014 Tim Gauthier Lifestyle, News, Video Tags: , , , , ,

When you put Borgore, Waka Flocka Flame, and Steve Aoki together, you know you’re in for a good time. While the video for “Wild Out” features an epic party as well as some forays into a psychedelic world, the making of the video was a party itself. Go behind the green screen and see what the guys get up to when the cameras aren’t rolling. While it might be disappointing to realize that there aren’t ACTUALLY pizzas flying through space, the on set antics might be entertaining enough to let that fact slide.

[Official Video] Felix Cartal – Let It Go feat. Lily Elise

April 17, 2014 Tim Gauthier Video Tags: , , , ,

Pre-Order on iTunes: http://georiot.co/CreditsEP

On Felix Cartal‘s latest single, “Let It Go,” the Canadian producer combines pop and electronic elements in a way that’s far from coerced or cliché in the sea of pop-EDM collabs. The track is one of three from his forthcoming EP, Credits, due out on April 29th via Steve Aoki‘s imprint, Dim Mak Records. Another striking detail of “Let It Go” is the beautiful and soulful vocals of Lily Elise. “This song serves as the final piece to my Credits EP, an EP of three songs that all complement each other differently. I wanted to continue the idea of my last EP where each song is different, but still sound like they are from the same sessions. My favorite part of this track has to be the ‘Let It Go’ break. It’s simple and powerful at the same time. Lily Elise made that all possible. Her voice is unreal,” Felix says.

Let It Go” is the perfect made-for-film soundtrack to its accompanying black and white video. “I love what Kasey Lum came up with for the video. We filmed all day just around our city and I think the blend of animation with black and white footage creates this interesting surrealist vibe — a perfect complement to the song itself.”

Coone & Substance One – Drowning (Official Video)

January 8, 2014 Tim Gauthier Video Tags: , , , , ,

“Drowning” with Substance One is a featured track on Coone’s recently released full-length album “Global Dedication.” The track demonstrates the more melodious spectrum of “Global Dedication,” spotlighting harmonious vocals. A mixture of plush chord progressions and intricately sewn melodies shows off the diversity possible in modern hardstyle. Most impressive of all is how the serene vocals truly capture the emotional context in “Drowning.”

Travis Barker and Yelawolf Get an EDM Overhaul in ‘Push Em’ (Steve Aoki and Travis Barker Remix) – Song Premiere

July 24, 2013 Tim Gauthier Music Tags: , , , , ,

Ubiquitous drummer Travis Barker and electro master Steve Aoki have joined forces on a remix of “Push ‘Em”, a track from Barker and rapper Yelawolf’s 2012 EP Psycho White.

“Travis Barker is hands down my favorite musician to work with,” Dim Mak label founder and veteran remixer Aoki tells Rolling Stone. “Whether it’s original material like we did on ‘Misfits’ or ‘Cudi the Kid,’ or doing this remix for his group. . . [Barker] has the best vocal samples to use for a stomping club record.”
