AutoErotique‘s breathtaking new single “Asphyxiation” undoubtedly lives up to it’s name. This pulsating electro track will have you gasping for air but wanting more as you fight back the urge to get up and dance.
No strangers to the production game, the widely inspired Toronto based duo have been behind the scenes producing various genres of music for years before officially joining the dance music community and singing to Dim Mak Records in early 2009. Every track AutoErotique puts out showcases the perfect blend of electro, techno, house, Dutch house, Dutch-colonial house, rave, rock, rave-rock, indie-rock, and even ska inspired elements.
Gladiator, AutoErotique’s first single released on Dim Mak Records in September 2009, received immediate attention from the likes of Steve Aoki, DJ AM, Klever, Larry Tee/Alexander Technique, The Faint, AC Slater, and Milano whom have all remixed the epic track, making AutoErotique a heavyweight name in the EDM scene. AutoErotique has since showed off their ambiguous musical talents with their own remixes for Benny Benassi, Felix Luker, Tiesto, Etienne de Crecy, Joachim Garraud, Sarah McLeod, Lykki Li, Shinichi Osawa, Chris Cornell & Timbaland, Diplo & Laidback Luke, Larry Tee, B. Rich, Disco Bisquits, Fischerspooner and Weezer. A recent collaboration with fellow Dim Mak artist Felix Cartal has given birth to the stellar summer single “The Alarm”, which is scheduled to be released June 6th on Dim Mak Records.
Being a native Texan, I’m stoked to present DIRTYPHONICS and their band of misfits as they take on three major Texas cities in the IRREVERENCE TOUR “Like Animals Episode 3” video. Making stops in Houston, Dallas, and Austin, the DIRTY boys wreck shop with loads of energy, confetti, stage dives, booby stamping, sensual shower scenes, stuffing people into lockers, and the sighting of a Texas staple…a “treadmill” (or as it is more formerly called, a windmill). Featuring tracks off the monumental “IRREVERENCE” album with footage that makes me green with envy for missing it, this episode is full of what makes Texas weird and makes the producers we love #DIRTY. Check out the previous two episodes from this epic nationwide tour and keep your eyes open for the next brilliant video from the DIRTYPHONICS “IRREVERENCE” tour.

The party never stops when the Dim Mak crew is on scene. If you thought day 1 in Miami was wild then days 2 and 3 of WMC 2013 were nothing less than savage.
Things got wet and, well, weird as we hosted our highly anticipated Dim Mak Records Pool Party on Day 2. The Raleigh Hotel pool was full of babes in bikinis and dudes ready to dance their faces off. With rousing performances by Steve Aoki, Dzeko & Torres, Dirtyphonics, Laidback Luke, Keys N Krates, Yolanda Be Cool, Borgore & Carnage, Clockwork, and Benny Benassi, just to name a few, the day turned into night and back to day before anyone even realized it happened.
The insanity continued on day 3 as we made our way to the OWSLA Party at Red Bull House where we undoubtedly had our share of fun.
Make sure you stay tuned for “Dim Mak Invades Miami – Part 3″ to catch us at Ultra Music Festival.
Dim Mak head honcho Steve Aoki has done it again with a brilliant collaboration featuring Southern Cali’s Dan Sena and vocal vixen Miss Palmer. The smashing single “Omega” is embellished with a punchy bassline, captivating vocals, and what about that drop!?
Composer and sound artist Diego Stocco released a clip featuring his experiments with a new turntable and a few freshly gathered leaves. More specifically all bass, kick and snare sounds heard in the video were made by alternating the leaf type, angle, pressure as it was applied against the turntable. Amazing isn’t it? (via #vinyloftheday)
Recently I bought a turntable to use it for an experiment, but that didn’t turn out as I was expecting.
Then, I noticed the equally spaced ridges on the plate and got an idea for something else.
For about an hour I recorded short musical phrases by rubbing leaves against the turntable (the type of leaf, angle, pressure and fold determined the sound), then I combined the different takes together. Every element comes from those recordings, including the bass, kick and snare sounds (shaped with EQ, compression and resonators).

Wake up because AutoErotique and Felix Cartal have officially rung the alarm! “The Alarm” is the hot new collaboration that has everyone wanting to make their own rendition with remixes by Charlie Darker, Erick Rincon, and Keys N Krates. “The Alarm” is scheduled to be released on June 6 on Dim Mak Records. You can pre order “The Alarm” here and have the track on your playlist just in time for summer festival season!
Groovy basslines, feel-good rhythms, and dark yet hooky vocals, three signature elements you can certainly count on house music masters Azari & III to integrate into every one of their hypnotic tracks. The Toronto based quartet takes us on a ride back in time and drops us off during the classic Chicago house era where chill synth textures and syncopated overtones ruled the scene. Azari & III fuse classic house revivalism with modern interpretation. Their featured track, “Hungry for the Power (Jamie Jones Ridge Remix)” released on Dim Mak Records, highlights their back to the future type sound.
Azari & III have the power to captivate you with their upbeat dance moves and expressive stage presence. The music video for “Hungry for the Power” is a compilation of live performance footage from the Sonar North American tour and the 2013 Dim Mak Records showcase in Austin, Texas. The soulful house collective command the stage as Dinamo Azari and Alixander III handle the live electronics while Starving Yet Full and Fritz Helder take charge of the vocals.
In October of 2012, the Canadian house music group released their self titled album Azari & III on Dim Mak Records, which features “Hungry for the Power”. Dim Mak founder, Steve Aoki boasts “[Azari & III] bring up sounds from the past, but it’s what I think the future sounds like. And Azari & III are beyond any trends, which makes this one of the best albums of our generation. They also recently released an EP with their latest single “Lost in Time”, also released on Dim Mak Records in April 2013.” Both are available for purchase on iTunes.
Azari & III will be touring the states in late May/early June with shows in Hollywood, San Francisco, New York, and Philadelphia.
Evolve. Transcend. Prepare. The future is near, and from the looks of it in Steve Aoki and Angger Dimas’ video for “Singularity” ft My Name is Kay, it’s going to be a bumpy ride. In this voyeuristic video, Steve is at the merciless hands of mad scientist My Name is Kay and her henchman as they turn Steve into a lab rat cyborg with major rager issues, all while the brilliant Ray Kurzweil narrates what the future of mankind will look like. Part science fiction, part futurist theory, the video for the chilling track “Singularity” begs one question: are you prepared for the Neon Future?
