Groovy basslines, feel-good rhythms, and dark yet hooky vocals, three signature elements you can certainly count on house music masters Azari & III to integrate into every one of their hypnotic tracks. The Toronto based quartet takes us on a ride back in time and drops us off during the classic Chicago house era where chill synth textures and syncopated overtones ruled the scene. Azari & III fuse classic house revivalism with modern interpretation. Their featured track, “Hungry for the Power (Jamie Jones Ridge Remix)” released on Dim Mak Records, highlights their back to the future type sound.
Azari & III have the power to captivate you with their upbeat dance moves and expressive stage presence. The music video for “Hungry for the Power” is a compilation of live performance footage from the Sonar North American tour and the 2013 Dim Mak Records showcase in Austin, Texas. The soulful house collective command the stage as Dinamo Azari and Alixander III handle the live electronics while Starving Yet Full and Fritz Helder take charge of the vocals.
In October of 2012, the Canadian house music group released their self titled album Azari & III on Dim Mak Records, which features “Hungry for the Power”. Dim Mak founder, Steve Aoki boasts “[Azari & III] bring up sounds from the past, but it’s what I think the future sounds like. And Azari & III are beyond any trends, which makes this one of the best albums of our generation. They also recently released an EP with their latest single “Lost in Time”, also released on Dim Mak Records in April 2013.” Both are available for purchase on iTunes.
Azari & III will be touring the states in late May/early June with shows in Hollywood, San Francisco, New York, and Philadelphia.
Evolve. Transcend. Prepare. The future is near, and from the looks of it in Steve Aoki and Angger Dimas’ video for “Singularity” ft My Name is Kay, it’s going to be a bumpy ride. In this voyeuristic video, Steve is at the merciless hands of mad scientist My Name is Kay and her henchman as they turn Steve into a lab rat cyborg with major rager issues, all while the brilliant Ray Kurzweil narrates what the future of mankind will look like. Part science fiction, part futurist theory, the video for the chilling track “Singularity” begs one question: are you prepared for the Neon Future?
AutoErotique doesn’t seem to have any problem living up to the definition of his name, and the proof is in the super sexy teaser for his latest video, “Asphyxiation”. With a nice bare lady ass and a sampling of the track itself, this little glimpse of some sort of heaven is just enough to make me stoked on the release of the full video on May 28th.

This year we started off the 2013 festival season in Austin, Texas during the SXSW festivities for the Dim Mak x Buygore showcase. A few members from our team headed out from LA to the lone star state to help including #Jenks, Bryan (B!) Linares, Alexvnder, and others. Even our good friend NeilFavila.com made it!
The event served as a platform to showcase Dim Mak’s newest and long-term artists from near and far. We rallied in the troops for a roster that included Scanners, AutoErotique, PeaceTreaty, Azari & III, Keys N Krates, Will Brennan, New Ivory. Borgore and the Buygore camp presented Kennedy Jones, Ookay, & an epic Borgore x Carnage dj set. You know this was a party!

The AOKI FILES: MIAMI EDITION episodes are still rolling in, and this latest installment features the genre-hopping Belgium based producers SOUND OF STEREO. Steve goes poolside with the guys to talk about their mystical EP “UNICORN”. You know that a release is going to be damn good when the producers say that this is the product of a sound they’ve wanted to make for a long time, and that is the case with UNICORN. From melodic chillness to clubby bangers, UNICORN is a truly magical collection of songs. Hot on the heels of UNICORN is the very recent release of “ORIGIN”, a two-track EP with heavy heavy drops and intense festival vibes. These guys are totally on fire, and we here at Dim Mak are stoked to let you feel the heat!
Treat Me Right: an epic trip through space, time, and romance novels. The new video from Keys N Krates’ interprets its own ambiguous request by borrowing from the beautifully rendered (yet often ridiculous) world of vintage romance novel cover art. Spanning everything from Highlander…
We all know at least one chick who is like, a total tease right? Usually, this broad is well known for breaking hearts and painting the town red, all while looking innocent and cherry the whole time. Such a dangerous babe as this is found in the 50s themed video for Sato Goldschlag‘s “Mr. Mister” feat. Hannah Sidibe. Filmed in terrifying slow motion with a costume department that would make vintage junkies weep, this soothing and undeniably catchy song plays us through the worst night of two unsuspecting dudes lives. Get your seductive groove on and watch out for “Mr. Mister” on Dim Mak’s New Noise 4-out now on iTunes and Beatport!
Dark pop/alternative indie band, Scanners performed their featured track “Control” at the Dim Max x Buygore Austin 2013 Showcase where the band played live alongside some of Dim Mak and Buygore’s biggest artists. “Control” is the melodic and gritty guitar filled single off their new album ‘Love is Symmetry’. The music video for “Control” is a compilation of different live performances the band did in Austin and highlights their passionately energetic stage presence and their signature folky alternative sound.
The London based band is making their highly anticipated return back to the world of music after two years of silence with the release of their new album ‘Love is Symmetry’, their third full-length album on Dim Mak Records scheduled to be release in June 2013.
Scanners have been a part of Dim Mak’s roster of artists since 2006, after Dim Mak chief, Steve Aoki, came across their track, “Violence is Golden” on the internet and later made a trip to London and signed the band. Since then, Scanners have released their debut and sophomore albums, ‘Violence is Golden’ (2006) and ‘Submarine’ (2010) on Dim Mak as precursors to ‘Love is Symmetry’. But their success does not stop there. They have also been featured on a number of popular television shows including Gossip Girl, Shameless, One Tree Hill, Entourage, and a live performance on the ‘Carson Daly’ Show. Along with their television show features, Scanners have supported distinguished acts worldwide including Silversun Pickups, Devo, and Juliette and The Licks among many others.
In April, the band toured around Germany in celebration of ‘Love is Symmetry’ and will continue touring the States and Europe throughout 2013.
So far, 2013 has been a massive year for the dynamic duo of SHOWTEK; though they’ve been behind the tables for 13 years, this seems to be the year where the fans are really demanding more from these veteran producers. If the release of their astounding EP “CRUNK/SLOW DOWN” left you clamoring for more, then today is like the best day of your life. The video for “SLOW DOWN” is live and is the perfect remedy for those of us anxious for festival season to rev up. This video has everything: doves, CO2 guns, footage of festival grounds packed with diehard fans dancing their asses off, gorgeous girls swingin’ their hair around, buff dudes fist pumping, and all the raver booty you could ever hope for…and it’s all set to the anthem of “SLOW DOWN”, which demands you throw your mother f*ckin’ hands up! In addition to all that, it shows just what kind of crazy good time you can expect from a SHOWTEK show. So turn that volume all the way up, dig out your pasties and/or sweatbands, and get ready to party in this fresh out the oven video, courtesy of SHOWTEK and Dim Mak Records.
So when did Sofia Coppola start making short films with intense dance music as the soundtrack? Oh wait… she didn’t, Tom Willems did. It’s the new Sound of Stereo (ft. Teddiedrum) music video, “Origin (One on One)”! For four minutes and fifteen seconds, I found myself sitting on the edge of my couch with emotions running at a fever pitch, a burst of laughter, and one hell of a track to help me dance the anxiety of what I was seeing away. Seriously, this music video is like an entire movie crammed into four minutes and the song itself is intoxicating and peaceful at the same time, which is not easy to do; this track could be perfect for studying to or dancing your heart out to at the club.
What’s more filthy than the grimy electrifying beats of Dirtyphonics? Well, nothing… Except their Irreverence tour! The four dirty boys from France will be touring around the US in celebration of their forthcoming debut full-length album ‘Irreverence’ released on Dim Mak Records…
